On Sunday, we headed over to Project Open Hand with 40 teenage girls to complete the first portion of The Prom Project. In exchange for a prom dress, each girl donates 3 hours of community service at Open Hand, one of our favorite nonprofits in Atlanta. For the unfamiliar, OH packages and delivers nutrition-conscious meals to elderly and chronically ill patients. They’ve been operating since 1988 and have recently reached a milestone: 20,000,000 meals delivered! This was our third year packaging meals at Open Hand for The Prom Project, and as always we had a blast. Next up: Dress Day on March 10!

Looking for Dress Day Volunteers 3/10
Interested in helping a girl find her dream dress for prom? We’re looking for volunteers for our next Dress Day at Cross Keys High School. The date is Saturday, March 10 from 9:30 to 3:30—we work in shifts, so you don’t need to be there the entire day. Volunteers are paired with a recipient for a personal “shopping” experience and are expected to be encouraging, positive, and supportive. Other duties include help with set-up, breakdown, and sign-in sheets. Snacks and fun provided! If this sounds up your alley, please fill out our volunteer form.
