Looking for Dress Day Volunteers 3/10

Interested in helping a girl find her dream dress for prom? We’re looking for volunteers for our next Dress Day at Cross Keys High School. The date is Saturday, March 10 from 9:30 to 3:30—we work in shifts, so you don’t need to be there the entire day. Volunteers are paired with a recipient for a personal “shopping” experience and are expected to be encouraging, positive, and supportive. Other duties include help with set-up, breakdown, and sign-in sheets. Snacks and fun provided! If this sounds up your alley, please fill out our volunteer form.

A Night In Paris: 3rd Annual Adult Prom Fundraiser
Ooh la la! Please join us for A Night In Paris, our 3rd Annual Adult Prom Fundraiser on Friday, April 27 from 8 to 11 pm. Bring your top hats, party pants, and dancing shoes for what promises to be an unforgettable night at Sutra Lounge in midtown Atlanta. The event will feature:

  • Spectacular drink specials!
  • Lively music from DJ Sumo!
  • A raffle with fabulous prizes!
  • A photo booth from LeahAndMark.com!

Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door—and include both a signature cocktail and automatic entry into our prize raffle. 21 and up. Dress code: black tie optional.

100% of the proceeds will go toward funding programs for underprivileged teens from Cross Keys, Maynard Jackson, and Grady high schools.

That's 50 more than she had.

We counted, and the results are in: we collected over 70 dresses in one month for our first ever Dressgiving Drive! Thanks to everyone who participated in the collection—from GSU’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and Georgia Tech’s Collegiate Panhellenic Council to the offices of Sanctuary Real Estate, Turner Networks, Resurgens Orthopaedics, and three—and kudos to every woman who emptied her closet for The Prom Project. Dress Day is right around the corner, and we’re looking forward to another prom season.

In other news, we’re getting ready for our busiest time of the year. We’ll be volunteering with Project Open Hand, voting for a scholarship winner for last fall’s Be Awesome, Be Aware program, and gearing up for our biggest fundraising event of the year: our 3rd Annual Adult Prom Fundraiser. Can’t say much more right now, but here’s a hint: start practicing your cancan.

New Location for Our Dressgiving Drive

Throughout November and December, we are collecting formal dresses for our Dressgiving Drive. We’ll dry clean and donate the dresses to underprivileged girls from Cross Keys, Maynard Jackson, and Grady high schools next prom season.
