2025 Annual Prom Fundraiser

We are a resource hub connecting youth to mentors, positive role models, & opportunities.

 We are breaking barriers to success through a holistic wellness initiative called "Discover Your Inner Warrior." Each week students learn about topics like domestic violence, reproductive health, emotional wellbeing, how to apply for college and much more.  

Since 2009 Athena’s Warehouse has worked to provide positive experiences to young women. Our very first program was the Prom Dress Project, we collect gently used formal dresses from women in the community, have the dresses cleaned and then give the dresses away to students. Through this program we were able to ascertain that there was a deeper need in the community, that many of the young women we are serving have low self esteem, and these students have a lot of responsibilities to help their families financially. Thus the, formerly “Be Awesome Be Aware”, now “Discover Your Inner Warrior” program was born. We needed a way to establish a sense of belonging, to show students that they were connected to their community and that their voices were important. 

We were founded in 2009 by former State House Representative Bee Nguyen who wanted to share the joy of sisterhood with teens in metro-Atlanta. As the daughter of immigrant parents, founder Bee Nguyen watched as her father worked two jobs while her mother, with limited English proficiency, raised five girls in an unfamiliar country. Having fled from Vietnam, and after enduring unimaginable hardships her parents always emphasized the value of education and economic independence. Bee soon discovered within herself a talent for entrepreneurship and an innate love for women and girls. Combining these passions, Athena’s Warehouse was born to be a safe haven for young women facing poverty, and hardships related to their immigrant status.
